When you think you cannot go on,
try again.
When you think your strength is running out,
try again.
When your legs give way,
try again.
When you feel you are drowning in tears,
try again.
How many times did you fall while learning to walk?
How many silly things did you say while learning to speak?
How many times did you scrape your knees while learning to ride a bicycle?
How much water did you swallow while learning to swim?
Today, it is only a memory. Or perhaps you do not even remember, because you learned so well that now you think you were born knowing how.
There is a saying: “The drop struck the pitcher so often that it broke it.” It was not the force of the water that broke the pitcher, but its persistence.
It was your consistency and determination that kept you from throwing in the towel before. It was the feeling of knowing you would succeed sooner rather than later. It was the personal goal you set for yourself without realizing it, and achieved. You do not see it today, just as you did not see it then.
Apply the same logic. This is nothing new to you. You have done it before. Remember the wonderful things you have achieved. That feeling will give you the strength you need to try again and achieve whatever you set your mind to.
Keep going, persevere, and try again.
“The one who moved the mountain began by removing the small stones.”
